NGT ban violation
On September 16 at around 11.45 am, police detected one coal laden truck (ML-04-8811) driven by Broker Wann at Ladsutnga (EJH) violating the NGT order. Police arrested the driver and seized the truck.
Theft
On the night of September 16, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Leena Pyngrope at Nongmynsong Dong Kadiang, Shillong and stole Rs. 12 lakh and one mobile phone.
Dhirandra Chandra Das lodged a late complaint at Madanrting PS that on January 8, 2014, when returned from his home town, he found that unknown miscreants had broke into his residence at Madanrting Block-F, Shillong and stole TV set, DVD Player, gold chain, cash Rs. 5,000/- and other goods total valued around Rs. 1 lakh.
Arrest
On September 16, Police arrested one Ebiding Rabon from Thangrain village (WJH) in connection with a murder case under Jowai PS.
Police arrested one Pynshngainlang Warjri (21 yrs) from Pyndeng Nongbri (WKH) in connection with a kidnapping case under Mawlai PS.
One dead
On September 16 at around 11.40 am, one Ker Khongsdam (23) was brought dead at Civil Hospital Shillong as declared by the MO on duty. Necessary formalities were observed and the body handed over to the relatives.
On September 15 at around 3.30 pm, one Buton Singh of Paltan Bazar was found unconscious at Mawlong Hat, Shillong and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong. The MO declared him brought dead. Necessary formalities were observed and dead body handed over to the relatives.
On September 14 one Arwin L Lyngkhoi (44 yrs) was found unconscious inside his residence at Demthring, Block-1, Shillong and was shifted to Nazareth hospital where the MO declared him brought dead. Necessary formalities were observed and dead body handed over to the relatives.
Money looted
On September 15 at around 9.45 pm, unidentified miscreants robbed Rs. 1,42,680 from Thangkhiew Petrol Pump, Upper Shillong.
Attempted rape
On September 12 at around 5 pm, one Kloi Sungoh entered into the house of one lady at Barato-B (WJH) and attempted to rape her but she managed to escape. The next day the accused along with Lang War damaged the house of the complainant and threatened her with dire consequences.
Extortion
Raksrang A Sangma, secretary FKJGP, Garo Hills Zone lodged a complaint at Tura PS that some miscreants have been extorting money from the traders of Tura impersonating as FKJGP members and that on September 9 one Tengra Ch Marak was extorting money from the traders of New Council Building, Tura Bazar.
Accident
On September 9 at around 6.30 pm, one dumper truck (ML-04A-6662) and a local taxi (ML-11-0307) met with an accident at Khliehriat (EJH). As a result the driver of the taxi sustained injuries and was shifted to CHC, Khliehriat where he succumbed to his injuries.
Assault
On September 8 at around 3 pm, one Sengbath Marak assaulted Jaya K Sangma at Bolkret village (EGH). As a result the victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Goalpara, Assam. Police arrested the accused.
Complaint
Beg Maya Thapa and others lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on August 29 at around 10 pm, one Sunil Thapa created nuisance under the influence of alcohol in the premises of Bishnu Thapa at Kiran Line, Lapalang, Shillong. When the relatives of Sunil Thapa intervened and settled the matter, Bishnu Thapa filed a false complaint at Rynjah PS.
