Ardent to clarify on allegations today

SHILLONG: KHADC Chief Executive member (CEM) Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Thursday informed that there will be no change in the venue of the public meeting scheduled on Friday.

Basaiawmoit refuted reports in a section of the media that he had failed to get permission to hold the public meeting at Students’ Field, Jaiaw, and added that the meeting will be held at Student’s Field from 2 pm onwards.

Basaiawmoit, however, did not confirm whether other political leaders would be addressing the meeting besides him, saying it would depend on the situation on Friday.

Meanwhile, he urged the general public to attend the meeting where he is expected to clarify on the various accusations levelled against by the UDP MDCs during the month-long political crisis in the KHADC.

Basaiawmoit is likely to make a public announcement on whether he would quit or continue as the CEM.
