Assault
On September 18 at around 5 pm, five unidentified persons assaulted Priyanka K Sangma (21) at Mawiong, Dong Tariang, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Body found
On September 18 at around 3.30 pm, the body of one Dipak Chettri (36), labourer of Trikotha Factory, Nerbong, Byrnihat (RB) was found inside the factory.
On September 16, the body of one Prom Lyngdoh was found hanging from a tree at Mawphetkhlam Forest (SWKH). Necessary formalities have been observed and the body was handed over to the relatives.
One dead
On September 17, one truck (AS-01-DC-7833) dashed against one Maruti Alto car (ML-04B-9438) at Myntdu Bridge NH-44 (WJH). As a result one occupant of Maruti Alto car Elias Shylla died on the spot while other occupants sustained injuries and were removed to Dr. Norman Tunnel Hospital, Jowai. NGT ban violation
On the evening of September 17, Police detected one coal laden truck (AS-01FC-0287) driven by Oslantin Basaiawmoit at Shyrwang village (WKH) in violation of NGT order. The driver was arrested and truck seized.
On September 17 at around 2 pm, Police arrested nine persons, Rahim Uddin, Nur Islam, Majibul, Naraj Ali, Sonikul Islam, Masan Ali, Iman Ali, Shah Jahan and Jolaluddin while they were loading coal into three trucks (ML-04B-2255, ML-04A-5255 & ML-05J-9972) at Dkhiah Coal Depot (EJH) in violation of NGT order. Police seized the trucks.
Theft
On September 16 at around 2.45 am, unknown miscreants stole six mobile phones and one digital camera from Tura Govt. College Girls’ Hostel (WGH).
Police arrested one Rahul Kharkongor in connection with a theft case under Rynjah PS.
Threat
On the evening of September 16, one Pynsapha Behphat threatened his mother Soilan Behphat and his siblings with dire consequences at Mawdang village (EKH).
Fraud
Mineti Biswas lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on September 13, she received a phone call from unidentified person claiming to be SBI official and asked about her Bank Account and ATM details which the complainant provided. Later, on September 15, when she updated her account she detected Rs. 1 lakh has been withdrawn from her account.
Rape
Kordalin Rani lodged a complaint at Mawryngkneng PS that one Khraw Mawthoh abducted her 13-year- old maid servant from Mawryngkneng to Shillong and raped her.
Trespassing
Police arrested one Richard Nongrum @ Rich in connection with a criminal tresspass case under Mawlai PS.
Murder accused arrested
Police arrested two persons, Singra B Marak (22) and (2) Sanjit B Marak from Rongdenggre and Bolonggre (WGH) respectively, in connection with a murder case under Ampati PS.
