NESO condemns

SHILLONG: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has condemned the killing of Banker Passah, a 23-year-old student from Chilliangraij, Jowai, at Dharwad, Karnataka. The body of Passah, a student of Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BMHS) at Dr. B D Jatti Homeopathic Medical College, was found near a railway track at Dharwad.

“This very act of targeting Passah was not an isolated case but a continuation of such harassment and intimidation in different parts of mainland India which portray of the attitude and mindset that they have towards the People from North East,” NESO chairman Samuel Jyrwa said on Wednesday.

He urged the Karnataka Chief Minister, Home Minister to take adequate measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future and to ensure security of the North East students studying there.
