Lok Sabha Speaker to grace Golden Jubilee of Nagaland Assembly

Kohima:The Speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan will grace the celebration of the 50 years anniversary of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) at its complex on November 29.

According to official sources oN Thursday the golden jubilee celebration of the NLA will also be addressed by Nagaland Governor P. B. Acharya and other Guest of Honours are Dr S. C. Jamir, Governor of Odisha and ex-Interim Body Member, MP and former Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Leader of Congress Legislature Party, Tokheho Yepthomi. Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang will share ‘Greetings’.

Sources said that during the celebration, Lok Sabha Speaker will unveil the ’50 Years Commemorative Monolith’ and release the ’50 Years Commemorative Souvenir and Memento’. The celebration will also be marked by a Photo Exhibition with a theme ‘The Nagaland Legislative Assembly in Transition,’ which will be inaugurated by the Lok Sabha Speaker at 12 noon, while the ‘Glimpse of Nagaland’ will be staged at the State Banquet Hall at 6 PM.

It has been informed that the past and present MLAs of NLA, Ex-IBMs, past and present Nagaland MPs, former Secretaries and Senior officers of NLA, ChiefSecretary Administrative Heads of Departments, Head of Departments, Nagaland Public Service Commission members, RTI Members, Nagaland Women Commission Members, State Chaplin, NBCC General Secretary, Presidents of Naga Hoho, Naga Mothers’ Association, Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization, Eastern Nagaland Women’s Organization, Naga Students Federation, Eastern Naga Students Federation, Naga Pe3oples Movement for Human Rights and other Civil Societies and also leaders of all recognized political parties will be invited to attend the celebration.
