Cleaning drive
The Laban Presbyterian Higher Secondary School organized a cleaning drive on Friday. The principal, staff and students of the school started the cleaning drive from Laban State Dispensary and headed towards State Bank of India.
Convocation
The first convocation of National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya will be held on November 1 at its temporary campus in Bijni complex, Laitumkhrah. Renowned scientist Dr Anil Kakodkar will deliver the convocation address. 83 B-Tech students who have completed their programme will be awarded degrees during the convocation.
Lecture
The Meghalaya Economic Association will organize a special lecture on “Unlocking Green Opportunities in Meghalaya” by Rachel O Reilly (Wildlife Works, USA) on October 27 at Pinewood Hotel, at 2 pm
New Bishop
The Church of North India in the North East will have a new Bishop at the superannuation of the Most Revd. Dr Purely Lyngdoh who has served the Diocese for 18 years. His successor, Revd. Micheal Herenz will be consecrated on November 2 at the All Saints Cathedral, Shillong and installed on the same day at 3 pm.
Office bearers
The Seng Samla Shnong Mawkhar has elected new office bearers. Hamarbamut Najier has been elected as the president and Pynshaiboklang Diengdoh, the general secretary among others.

The office of the District Health Society, National Health Mission, East Khasi Hills has informed that a district Grievances Redressal Committee has been constituted to address complaints. NIFT event
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong Campus will organise the NIFT Fashion Olympiad (NFO) from October 30-31 at NIFT Shillong Campus.
