Tribute to two stalwarts today

SHILLONG:  Come Saturday, the State will remember two of its stalwarts and former chief ministers, Capt Williamson Sangma and BB Lyngdoh, who were contemporaries.
The Capt Williamson Memorial Welfare Committee Siju will organise an event at the Memorial Welfare Park in Siju Cave to observe the 25th death anniversary of the former Chief Minister. Similarly, the BB Lyngdoh Memorial Committee will organize memorial lecture in memory of the former Chief Minister at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw the same day.   While Captain Sangma was the first Chief Minister of the State, Lyngdoh, the architect of the MLA scheme is also known as the founder of coalition politics in India.
