BJP VP, others arrested in Makra for defying Sec 144
Kolkata/Suri:The three-member BJP central delegation, led by national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi(MP), were among five persons arrested at Chowmandalpur in Birbhum district for violating Section 144 CrPC today. Others arrested were delegation members Kirti Azad and Udit Raj besides, West Bengal BJP chief Rahul Sinha and state party spokesman Ritesh Tiwari. They were taken to Parui police station. Mr Naqvi, along with Kirti Azad(MP) and Udit Raj, accompanied by Mr Sinha and Mr Tiwari left Kolkata in the morning amid warning from the state home department not to visit Makra village where three youths were gunned down in bloody clashes on Monday. Prohibitory orders had been clamped in the area since Saturday. (UNI)
