SHILLONG: A vision to boost secondary education was developed at the two-day workshop on ‘Strategic Planning’ organised by the State Education Mission Authority of Meghalaya.
The workshop, which concluded on Thursday, was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of School Education and Literacy, and MBOSE with support from Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)-Technical Cooperation Agency and NERIE Shillong.
The vision developed at the workshop sets out the aspiration of the state towards ensuring that all young people regardless of gender, caste, location, special needs or income levels finish secondary education equipped with the skills needed to contribute to the development of their society.
Experts in the areas of gender, special needs, health, teacher training and research also participated in the workshop and shared their experiences and the challenges faced by the youth of the State.
The vision will give direction to the development of medium term goals and targets for the next three years for secondary education in Meghalaya.
The programme is aimed at making good quality secondary education available, accessible and affordable to all young persons in the age group of 14-18 years.
