Suicide
On the morning of November 1, Sirdar of Dwara Nongtyrmen reported at Dangar OP that one unidentified female reportedly committed suicide at Weisohpieng village under Dangar OP (EKH).
Kidnapping bid
On October 31 at around 2.30 am, five unidentified persons armed with two pistols suspected to be Bangladesh nationals attempted to abduct one Raju Pal, a coal exporter from his residence at Gasuapara Songma (SGH). However, the alert VDP volunteers came to his rescue and the suspects managed to escape towards Bangladesh.
Theft
On October 31 at around 4 pm, one Md. Zaheer Ansari (41) stole cell phone belonging to Smt. Chaitali Dixit from Flavour Restaurant, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. Police arrested the accused and recovered the stolen cell-phone.
On October 30 at around 4 pm, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Riwotka Pde at Ladthalaboh, Iawthymme, Jowai (WJH) and stole Rs. 20,000/-, two tola gold ornaments and ATM Card.
On the night of October 29, unknown miscreants broke into the office of MECOFED, New Tura, Araimile (WGH) and stole cash Rs. 25,000 and clothes valued around Rs. 5,000.
Assault
On October 31 at around 7 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Hersing Suting (48) at Bara Bazar Taxi Stand, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On the night of October 31, unidentified miscreants assaulted Henry Denis Warjri (35) at Lawjynriew Nongthymmai, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Accident
On October 30 at around 7.15 pm, an accident took place between one scooter (ML-04-3575) ridden by Shibaidon Passi and one Tata Sumo (ML-04B-1412) driven by Dame Dhar at Nangbah Dukhu village (WJH). As a result, the bike rider and one pillion rider sustained injuries and were removed to KJP Hospital, Jowai where Shibaidon Passi succumbed to his injuries.
NGT violation
R. Kharbihkhiew, EAC, Jowai lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on October 30 at around 8 pm, he and his team while on vehicle checking duty at Jowai area (WJH) detected two coal laden trucks (AS-01S-5175 & AS-01R-6175) driven by Ricky Chyrmang and Burom Chyrmang respective violating the NGT order. Both trucks were seized and arrested the drivers.
Molestation
A woman lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat PS that on October 29 at around 2.30 pm, one unidentified male person attempted to molest her 17-year-old daughter at Pomlum, Photumthot village (SWKH).
Abduction
Predickson Sangma lodged a complaint on October 28 at Mahendraganj PS that on October 19 around 1 pm, one Md. Arif Mia abducted his sister-in-law (22) from somewhere between Meringgipara and Mahendraganj (SWGH).
