8 State students to take part in Natl Science Convention

SHILLONG: The State Council of Science, Technology and Environment informed that the two day- State-level Congress, part of the 22nd National Children’s Science Congress, 2014, concluded on October 31. Out of 31 projects presented, eight projects were selected to represent Meghalaya in the National Convention to be held from December 27 to 31 at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The project leaders who will represent the State include Shaunee Dey from Tura Public School, Sengbiana Sangma from Sacred Heart Sec. School, Williamnagar, Banderson Wanniang from Little Star Sec. School, Mawkyrwat, Aloma D. Arengh of Tura Public School, Joshlin Shylla of Rymbai Govt. Sec. School, Marushia Phawa of Good Shepherd Sec. School, Lad Rymbai, Marveline Thyrnniang of St. Peter’s Hr. Sec. School, Nongstoin and Tenkambe Marak of Educare Hr. Sec. School, Williamnagar.

The two-day State-level Congress was inaugurated by Dr. S. Chaudhuri, Director (S&T), North Eastern Council, during which he also gave away awards to students who scored highest marks in Science in the SSLC Examination 2014 conducted by MBOSE.

Earlier, district-level Congresses had been organised in all the districts to select projects for the State-level Congress.
