Ashlee Simpson seeks help from mother-in-law to revive career

Singer Ashlee Simpson reportedly wants her super star mother-in-law Diana Ross to help boost her music career. The ‘Pieces of Me’ singer, who recently married the legendary singer’s son Evan Ross, has begged her to introduce her to new producers, reported Contactmusic. “Ashlee’s constantly hitting up Diana for industry contacts. Diana has no problem helping her son out, and she really does like Ashlee, but she knows a spoiled princess when she sees one,” a source said. The 30-year-old beauty married Evan, 26, in a lavish ceremony at Diana’s house in Connecticut last month. The 70-year-old star, who is ordained, was heavily involved in the ceremony and even officiated the couple’s wedding and then went on to perform her ballad ‘Endless Love’ at the service afterwards.(PTI)

Egypt is excited to be a big brother: Alicia Keys

Heavily pregnant singer Alicia Keys says her her four-year-old son Egypt Daoud is excited to be come a big brother. Keys, 31, is just two months away from giving birth to her second child, reported People magazine. “He is excited to be a big brother. I think he’s super excited because he’s not going to be the youngest anymore. He’s always kissing my belly,” Keys said. The singer, whose second child with husband Swizz Beatz is due on December 31, went on to say that having children has inspired her to work harder for social justice. “Being a mother has definitely furthered my passion for Keep a Child Alive and just talking about issues in the world overall,” she added. Lindsay Lohan banned from promoting fashion app

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan and her brother Michael Lohan Jr are not allowed to carry out activities related to their e-commerce app Vigme after a former business partner claimed that the siblings stole his idea to set a competing business. The ex-partner Fima Potik filed a USD 60 million lawsuit on October 30, claiming breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and loyalty, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition, reported Ace Showbiz. Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Saliann Scarpulla issued a temporary restraining order on October 31, preventing the pair from launching, promoting or marketing their app. Lohan’s attorney Ravi Batra has commented on the temporary restraining order, saying that it only “preserves the status quo.” The Lohans will file their own papers “backing up their claim that Fima is an inept plagiariser who fraudulently induced Lindsay, Mike and Chris to join him with [false] representations that he would have a product-recognizing app by June 2013 – an app he still hasn’t created.(PTI)

Goulding excited about new album

Singer Ellie Goulding is excited about the direction  of her next album. The 27-year-old singer-songwriter has started work on her third studio album, which will serve as the follow-up to 2012’s Halcyon, reported Digital Spy. “I’m excited about the direction. I think it’s easy to do something new and crazy, but I don’t really over think it when I get in the studio. I start a lot of stuff on guitar and I always have someone who plays piano with me classical music and folk music that so much stuff comes into it. I’m really happy and excited about the direction,” she added. (PTI)
