Kohima:The Nagaland Border Protection Force (NBPF) has asked all Ralan Area landowners of Wokha district to reach their respective villages and occupy their land for joint harvest before November 5, failing which they would not be allowed to claim ownership of their lands.
In a press release, NBPF commander of Wokha-Assam boundaries T. Yimto Yimchung said the decision was taken after a thorough assessment and observation of the situation in Ralan Area. The commander also said that enough chance was given to both Nagaland and Assam governments for an amicable settlement through peaceful means by Lotha Nagas in Ralan Area which was also supported by Lotha NGOs.
NBPF has invited the Kyong Hoho to express their solidarity by way of sending ‘volunteers’ during the joint harvest.
He said NBPF would take over all the disputed lands and would pursue the matter by way of confronting the AANLA (Maoist) and those Adivasis illegally occupying the lands in Ralan Area.
The NBPF also asked Kyong Hoho not to be complacent but support ‘their brothers’ in Ralan Area who were under severe threat from AANLA , supported by Assam Armed Police. NBPF said that if the Kyong Hoho failed to express solidarity, it would not entertain the Kyong Hoho in future with regard to the disputed land in Ralan Area.(UNI)
