Shillong Lajong Juniors beat Meghalaya Police

SHILLONG:Shillong Lajong Junior Team continued their winning streak and defeated Meghalaya Police 3 – 1 in what was an exciting Shillong Premier League encounter at the JN Stadium Shillong on Monday.
Nabin Rabha broke the deadlock for the Junior Reds in the 22nd minute and the Lajong boys were the more dominant side and had more ball possession than MLP.
The Junior Reds were awarded a penalty and Rupert Nongrum converted it in the 29th minute. Issac who came on as a substitute also found the back of the net for his team in the 81st minute.
Lame Passah scored the consolation goal for Meghalya Police in the 90+1 minute.
With this win the Junior Reds remain at the top of the Shillong Premier League table with 26 points from 11 matches played.
Meanwhile, Lawsohtun hammered five goals past Mawkriah. Lawsohtun’s scorers were L. Kipgen who scored in the 33rd minute, S. Shylla scored in the 40th minute, D. Kharsaw scored in the 60th minute, R. Nongkhlaw scored in the 66th minute and L. Nongrum 70th minute. Mawkriah got a consolation goal through K. Marbaniang in the 48th minute.
