Agartala:The lone Left Front Chief Minister of the country, Manik Sarkar, today flayed the BJP led NDA government at the Centre saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was intentionally ignoring issues of the common man.
Addressing a rally of Tripura State Jamiat Ulama-E-Hind here Mr Sarkar said the new government was more interested in “divisive” issues than solving the burning problems of the people.
Pointing out that more than a dozen communal violence incidents took place since the general elections in May, he alleged that the BJP-led government did not do anything to rein in rabid communal elements.
On the controversial and divisive issues like abrogation of Article 370 granting Uniform Civil Code and others, Mr Sarkar said while the people are expecting resolution of acute problems like price rise, unemployment, agrarian distress and increasing crimes against women, the BJP-led government seems more interested in raising issues which are divisive.
The leaders have demanded implementation of eight per cent reservation in education job and other governmental facilities, setting up of Wakf Boar, development in higher education, introduction of Arabic subject in schools and colleges.(UNI)
