Joel scores twice to beat Boys

SHILLONG: Joel Ayeni struck twice for Rangdajied United despite the Blues conceding two penalties in the Imperial Blue Shillong Premiere League match against Boys Sports Company here in Shillong on Wednesday.

Joel first placed Rangdajied in front with a 20th minute goal before scoring another in the 50th minute to ensure his side a comprehensive 4-2 win in a game that saw Boys display some amount of resilience against the reigning champions.

Rangdajied United were leading by three goals after goals from G. Kharlyngdoh scored in the 36th minute and K. Thopi scored in the 48th minute for Rangdajied United before conceding a penalty in the 49th minute. N. Meitei made no mistake to convert the penalty in finding the nets to give Boys Sports hope of putting up a close fight.

But Joel scored again a minute later to put the Blues ahead 4-1. Boys Sports were awarded another penalty in the 66th minute which Meitei converted it for his second penalty goal to give his side two goals.
