SHILLONG: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge Meghalaya V Narayanasamy, who arrived here along with AICC secretary in-charge Vijayalaxmi Sadho on Thursday, has hinted that he will hold one-to-one discussion with legislators on the state of affairs within Congress.
Narayanasamy, who was recently made the charge of Congress’s affairs in Meghalaya in place of Luizinho Faleiro, however, admitted that he would like to familiarize himself first with the ground situation in the state.
When asked about the demand of the dissidents for the change in leadership and the charge-sheet filed against Cabinet Minister Deborah Marak, Narayanasamy said that he did not have any knowledge on these two issues.
Without commenting anything on prevailing unhappiness among some legislators over the style and functioning of the Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, the former Union Minister said that the AICC top leadership would take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time.
Both the MPCC chief DD Lapang and the Chief Minister met the duo.
Earlier, the senior Congress legislator SC Marak said that the legislators were free to raise the issue of leadership with the AICC leaders during their meeting.
On Friday, the two AICC leaders would first meet the party workers at 11 am.
The duo would also meet senior Congress leaders and legislators later in the afternoon.
Narayanasamy will leave for Tura on Saturday morning to assess post-flood situation in Garo Hills.
