Home delivery of LPG cylinders

SHILLONG: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal has threatened to file FIRs against gas agencies failing to provide home delivery of LPG cylinders.

Speaking to reporters here Goyal said that point delivery of LPG cylinders has been done away with by the District Administration and the gas agencies should ensure delivery at the doorsteps of the customers.

“If we find any violation, we will immediately seize the truck and file an FIR against the owner of the agency,” he said asserting that stringent action will be taken against the defaulting gas agencies.

The DC also informed that the price of an LPG cylinder is Rs 449.50 which includes Rs 25 home delivery charge.

Goyal also urged the consumers to immediately bring to the district administration’s notice any violation of norms by gas agencies.

It may be mentioned that the district administration has also launched the “LPG connection portability” to facilitate shifting of agencies to unsatisfied customers without changing their connection numbers.

He also informed that as per the new procedure, all gas agencies are to deliver refilled cylinders within 48 hours of booking.
