‘Feels great to be participating in the tourney’

SHILLONG: In a proud moment for the State, Shillong lad Bhuvan Singh Rathore is the only one from the region to be among the ranked player in the PGTI tour to be taking part in the inaugural Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Open Golf at the historic Shillong Golf Course which begun from Wednesday.

Rathore (23) who originally hailed from Upper Lachumiere had turned a professional golfer about three years ago. Presently, he is based in Delhi.

Interestingly, Rathore who complete his graduation from the Delhi University was actually a basketball player who had participated national basketball championship representing the Delhi team.

He developed his interest towards golf only about five years ago.

Rathore had earlier participated in several golf event organized by the PGTI including the one held at Jaipur and Coimbatore.

When contacted, Rathore said that it feels really great to be participating in a tournament in Shillong.

“I will try to give my best shot in the tournament,” he said adding that he will also try to enjoy himself while playing in the tournament.
