New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has reconstituted the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Coordination Committee (MPCCC).
Gandhi has reconstituted the MPCCC inducting three members from the Government and equal number from the party to bring a semblance of unity in the warring state unit.
The seven-member committee, headed by the newly-appointed General Secretary in-charge of Meghalaya V Narayanasamy, has the Chief Minister and the MPCC president DD Lapang as members.
Besides the Chief Minister, the government side in the committee will be represented by Deputy Chief Minister Dr RC Laloo and Health minister AL Hek, AICC sources said here on Wednesday.
The MPCC vice-president Ronnie V Lyngdoh and general secretary PN Syiem are the party’s faces in the new committee.
The committee has been reconstituted following Narayanasamy’s recent visit to the State.
The committee will thrive to bring unity in the party and serve as link between the party and the Government, the sources added.
