EAC organises multi-speciality health camp

SHILLONG: Headquarters Eastern Air Command, Indian Air Force, Shillong, organised a multi-specialty health camp at Umlyngka Village (3rd Mile) Upper Shillong on Saturday.

The camp was inaugurated by Meenakshi Jolly, President, Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (Regional). Senior Air Force Officers of Eastern Air Command attended the health camp at Thomas Jerman Jones Memorial School, Umlyngka that was inaugurated at 10am.

Team of doctors and specialists from Eastern Air Command, Shillong, Air Force Hospital, Jorhat and Air Force Station Hasimara, comprising various specialists in Medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT and Dermatology, conducted screening and examination of the volunteer participants.

External medical examination was carried out and suitable advices were rendered to the patients for improving their health and hygiene.

A total of 800 participants from the villages of Umlyngka, Nongkseh, Lummawbah and Pynthor Lumpdeng attended the camp.

The village headmen and the village council members expressed gratitude to the Indian Air Force for their initiative which benefitted the needy people from the remote areas.
