Train services hit in Kokrajhar

Guwahati: Train services were hit on Wednesday due to a sudden agitation in Kokra-jhar district by Bodo Peoples Co-ordination Peace Initiative demanding release of terror outfit NDFB leader D R Nabla.

“Agitating members of the Bodo Peoples Co-ordination Peace Initiative of Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District demanding the release of D R Nabla (C-in-C of NDFB) today suddenly blocked train services at the Kokrajhar station under the Alipurduar division,” NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer said in a statement.

In view the of sudden ‘rail roko’ observed by the group from 5 am, running of 11 trains got disrupted, he added.

The agitation was finally called off at 9:35 am, the official said. (PTI)
