Convocation

The North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) will hold its 22nd Convocation on Nov 25 at its Permanent Campus, Mawlai. Governor & Chief Rector, NEHU, K.K. Paul will deliver the Convocation address as the chief guest on the occasion. Professor P. Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, NEHU will preside over the Convocation.

Birth anniv

The 89th birth anniversary of Sri Sathya Sai Baba will be celebrated on Nov 23 at Laitumkhrah Sai temple.

Clean mission

As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, employees of Survey of India, Shillong participated in a cleanliness mission on Nov 20 on the Survey of India premises.

Blood donation

University of Technology and Management, Shillong, is organizing a blood donation camp with the association of Pasteur Institute on its premises, at Laitumkhrah, on Nov 22 from 9am to 5pm.

Lecture

Women’s College, Shillong is organizing the Sixth Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar National Endowment Lecture on the theme ‘The Impact of Information and Communication Technology on Business and Society’ on Nov 24 at 1pm. Prof. Gautam Barua, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT, Guwahati, is the resource person.

Body recovered

Police recently recovered the body of an unknown female (approx. 50 years) from the road side at Polo. Family members have been requested to contact the police in this connection.

Lok Adalat

The District and Session Judge, West Garo Hills District, Tura will organise a National Lok Adalat in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) at its office premises in Tura on Dec 6 from 9:30 am onwards.

Missing case

One Kale Sarki (32) of 29th Cantonment has been missing since Nov 3. He is 5ft 10 in height and was last seen wearing black sweater, black trouser and black slippers.
