GNLA kills civilian

SHILLONG: A civilian was shot dead on Saturday by militants of the outlawed Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) in Meghalaya’s North Garo Hills district bordering Assam’s Goalpara district, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at Rari area under Bajengdoba when a group of three armed militants shot dead Bing Ch Sangma at his residence.

“We are still investigating as to why the militants killed the civilian,” a police official said. (UNI)
