Night road blockade off

 JOWAI: Nine Jaintia Hills-based pressure groups have called off their proposed night road blockade in East and West Jaintia Hills scheduled on December 5 and 6 following a fruitful discussion with the district administration officials.

The leaders of all the pressure groups held a meeting with the East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, WR Lyngdoh on Thursday.

Lyngdoh assured the delegation the demands raised by them would put forward to the State Government.

Besides seeking immediate transfer of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, SC Laloo, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, HK Thabah, Additional District Magistrate, RS Manner and the Superintendent of Police, MK Dkhar, the pressure groups demanded the state government to make the magisterial inquiry report into the September 24 Mookhep firing incident public.
