Nagaland Agriculture Minister blames Opposition for raid of his houses
Kohima: Nagaland Agriculture Minister Dr. Benjongliba Aier has said that the recent raids conducted at his official and private residences by the Nagaland State Vigilance Commission and Anti-Corruption Cell were designed ‘to create mistrust in the leadership.’ Interacting with media persons at Chungtia village under Mokokchung district on Sunday Dr. Aier stated that the Government would stand united and ‘defeat all such destabilizing agencies and sinister designs.’ Terming the raids as ‘political gimmick of the opposition,’ Dr. Aier said that he has been made a ‘scapegoat,’ while the Opposition was making attempts to topple the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) Government. He said he had personally met both the CLP leader Tokheho and MLA Khekaho and forgave them for ‘what they have done.’ Dr. Aier also lamented that the agencies have fallen prey to the political gimmicks of the opposition by raiding his residences without the knowledge even of Chief Minister of the state.
