Pre-Christmas
The Alumni Association of St. Mary’s College, Shillong, in collaboration with the staff and students of the college will organize a pre-Christmas party for the underprivileged children on December 13 on the college premises.
Clan award
The general meeting of the Thabah Clan held recently distributed awards to clan members who have excelled in their field of studies or work for the year 2013-14.
Winter festival
The two-day A·we Winter Festival, organized by the North Garo Hills district administration will be held on Dec 12-13 at Resubelpara Mini Stadium. Highlights of the festival will include marathon race, Gure Rodila dance, industrial exhibition, food festival, indigenous games, A·we Queen contest, archery, beach volleyball, inter-locality tug-of-war, songkritan dance competition and rock concert.
Traffic violations
Police on Tuesday night conducted checking at Barik and registered 18 cases of violation of ‘No Entry’ from Civil Hospital junction to Barik and realized a fine of Rs.18,300. Also, three tourist vehicles were detected parked inside MUDA Parking Lot at Khyndailad, waiting for passengers. A fine of Rs.2,100 was realized from the violators.
Exhibition
The District Commerce & Industries Centre, West Khasi Hills, in collaboration with North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project, District Horticulture office and Office of the Superintendent of Fishery, organized the 22nd district industries cum SHG/NaRM-G exhibition at Nongstoin on Wednesday.
