AIR’s NE Body Can Sing grand finale on December 16

SHILLONG: Music is the poetry of radio and since its inception, All India Radio is patronising every kind of music throughout the length & breadth of the country.

With the objective to promote the un-heard tunes of modern NE Culture and to bring to the limelight un-tapped musical talents of the region, AIR introduces a musical reality show NE Body Can Sing in North East for the first time.

Preliminary rounds started in the last week of August at the seven NE Capital Stations of AIR simultaneously.

From among the 36 competitors in the first round in each state, the best one had been selected on the basis of audience SMS votes and also a panel of judges deciding their fate.

On December 16, seven finalists from Agartala, Aizawl, Guwahati, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima and Shillong AIR stations would be performing live before the audience.

The best among the competitors would be awarded with Rs. One Lakh cash prize. The eligibility for the contestant was that they should be in the age group of 16 to 40 years and should not be performing music artist of AIR.

Meghalaya Governor Dr.K.K.Paul would be the Chief Guest on this occasion.

The programme would be broadcast live by all the Capital Stations of AIR in North East and by FM Stations. It would also be telecast live by DDK Shillong. Entry is free for all.
