New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday sought to promote India’s Northeast as a tourist destination and urged people to visit the region if they wanted to see the beauty of nature.

Modi said the northeast region is as good as Dubai and Singapore and went on to equate the region with the Taj Mahal.

In his monthly radio address ‘Man Ki Baat’, Modi said the northeast has a lot of potential and described his recent visit to the region as a “heart warming” experience.”People there gave me love. The sense of belongingness they show-ed towards me was heart-warming.”

The northeast region has eight states — Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mani-pur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. Although it is very difficult to choose any particular destination tour or activity that you should try in NE India, yet there are few things must to do while on your North East travel.
