SHILLONG: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Friday admitted that Chinese forces had made illegal intrusions into Indian territory earlier and have been occupying land belonging to India.

Speaking to media persons in Shillong, Rijiju admitted that India had lost certain portions of its land to China.

Stating that the differences between India and China were clear, he said that the Mac Mohan Line was inaccessible and armed forces cannot be stationed there for 12 months.

According to Rijiju, the Indo-China border was not delimitated and Indian forces stay within the confines of their own territory whereas Chinese forces make illegal intrusion into Indian territory.

He also said that such intrusions are flagged and discussed at various levels.

Rijiju, however, made it clear that the overall situation along the Indo-China border was peaceful.

Rijiju also asserted that India did not want to have animosity with any of its neighbours.
