Four militants nabbed by police, troops

Imphal:Four militants belonging to two outfits were nabbed by troops and Manipur Police personnel in series of operations which began on Friday last.

Troops of 40 Assam Rifles and Imphal East Police Commandos launc-hed a joint operation at Kongba on December 19 and apprehended an active cadre of PULF. The man was identified as No 2245, 2nd Lieutenant, Md Juma Khan.

One 7.65mm Automatic Pistol (made in U.S.A) alongwith magazine, five live rounds of 7.65mm and a mobile phone with two SIM cards were recovered from his possession. The apprehendee alongwith the recovered items has been handed over to the Porompat Police Station

In another operation, troops of the 12 BIHAR and Bishenpur Police Comman-dos launched a joint opera-tion at Laimapokpam, Takhel Makha Laikai and Langpok and apprehended three PREPAK cadres on Decem-ber 19. The apprehendees were identified as Oinam Sagar Singh, Chingakham Naoba Singh and Leihao-rungbam Sital Meitei

One 9mm pistol along with magazine, four live rounds of 9mm, one 7.65mm pistol along with magazine and three live rounds were recovered from their possession. The apprehen-dees alongwith the recovered items have been handed over to the Nambol Police Station.(UNI)
