Artificial football turf inaugurated

JOWAI: Deputy Chief Minister incharge Education Department Prof. R.C Laloo inaugurated the artificial football Turf at Kiang Nangbah Memorial Stadium, Ladthadlaboh Dongmihsngi, here on Sunday.

Assistant Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, C.W Dunai, Additional Deputy Commission, S.S Syiemlieh, Jowai Central MDC Andrew Shullai, Amwi Khliehtyrshi MDC, MB Rymbai were also present on the occasion among others.

Speaking as the chief guest, Laloo expressed his happiness to be with the District Sports Authority and to inaugurate the artificial turf.

“I hope the new artificial turf inaugurated today (Sunday) will continue to improve the quality of football and growth of the players so that the district will able to produce more players in the field of footbal and others sports activities”, said Laloo.

The Deputy Chief Minster also informed that Minister of Sports and Youth Affair, Zenith Sangma who was unable to attend the event conveyed his best wishes to the West Jaintia Hills District Sports Association (WJHDSA).

Assistant Director of Sports & Youth Affair CW Dunai who was also present on the occasion extended his wishes to the association.

“The Sport and Youth Affairs Department appreciates the effort and acknowledge the ability of the WJHDSA in promoting and producing efficient football players from the district.

After the inauguration, the Kiang Nangbah Memorial Trophy Super Division Final Football match was played between Chutwakhu and Sohmynting.

Chutwakhu Sports Club beat Sohmynting by 1-0 coal and was declared Champion for the year 2014-15.
