One held for demanding money

SHILLONG: Police have arrested one person from Assam for allegedly abducting a person and later demanding a ransom of Rs 2 lakh. Police said that on December 18, unknown miscreants abducted Walsing D Sangma from Rongbang Mangsang in East Garo Hills and later and demanded the ransom over phone. During inquiry, Police arrested one Moniul Islam of Molongdubi Pakriguri, Assam. A complaint in this regard was lodged by Sengrim Sangma at Rongjeng police station.
