New Delhi: Union Minis-ter of Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh on Friday said the Central government will provide every help to expand road network in Nagaland.
Dr Singh, to a demand for construction of Phase-II road from Chuchuyimlang to Yali via Salulemang, Longra Yangpi, said an estimated cost of Rs 38 crore would be utilised for the purpose. The demand was placed by Nagaland Minister for National Highways and Mechanical Engineering Nuklutoshi, here, this morning.
Dr Singh said he was aware that the road from Chuchuyimlang to Yali via Salulemang, Longra Yangpi connects three districts of the Nagaland State, that is, Longland District, Mon District and Tuensang District.
The importance of this road can, therefore, by no means be underestimated, he said. The Minister said construction of new roads and extension of the road network was a boon for the people of remote far flung areas particularly in a state like Nagaland, where other means of travel like Railways and Air are not adequately available.
With reference to setting up of a modern workshop-cum-training institute at Dimapur in order to train the unemployed youth with vocational skills.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is particu-larly concerned about improving employ-ment avenues for the youth living in peripheral and insurgency hit States of North East. Dr Singh also referred to rain water harvesting and recharging of the ground water for assuring the year availability of water in addi-tion to ecological and envir-onmental sustenance. (UNI)
