Theft
H/C Rajivan P of 108 Bn BSF lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that on December 29 at around 11.30 pm, one Sunil Chettri was caught red handed while he along with his accomplices were committing theft in a Generator Room at BSF Campus, Umpling. His accomplices however, managed to escape.
On December 24 at around 11.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti local taxi (ML-04A-1325) belonging to Wanjopmiki Synnah from Mihmyntdu (WJH).
On the night of December 26, unknown miscreants broke into the workshop of Skeepborlin Marngar (38) at Tiehsaw village (WKH) and stole tyres / tubes and machine tools valued around Rs. 38,600.
Vikash Lama lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on the morning of December 28, he found that the godown of M/s SB Enterprises at New Hill, Jowai (WJH) was burgled by unknown miscreants who stole cash Rs. 20,000, 40 cell-phones valued around Rs. 80,000 and 20 memory cards valued around Rs. 4,000.
Possible assault
On December 29 at around 9 pm, one unidentified male person was found lying unconscious with head injuries near State Central Library, Shillong. He was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong for treatment.
One knocked down
On December 28 at around 4 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05D-6425) driven by Syndarlin Lyngkhoi fatally knocked down one pedestrian Rilian Lyngdoh (65 yrs) at Jashiar village (SWKH). A criminal case has been registered in this connection.
NGT ban violation
Marshall Biam lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on December 28, one S.K. Rai, Residential Director, Meghalaya Cement Ltd., Thangskai (EJH) illegally purchased coal in violation of NGT order.
Truck stolen
Vinson Phawa lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on December 28 at around 2.30 am, unknown miscreants stole one truck (ML-04A-8682) from Ladrymbai Dongwah (EJH).
Motorcycle recovered
On December 28, Police arrested one Diknan N Marak of Samgong (EGH) and recovered one stolen motorcycle (ML-05D-7983) belonging to Limbha T Sangma.
One murdered
E. Kharkongor of Malki, Shillong lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on December 25 at around 6.30 pm, while her husband J.R. Mawthoh was returning home from his mother’s residence at Lumparing Lumdorbar, unidentified miscreants murdered him on the way and that his body with head injuries was recovered on the morning of December 27.
Fraud
Blandra Singh of M/s Star Cements Ltd., Lumshnong (EJH) lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on December 25, one Bikram Chorei, who was employed as driver in the company fraudulently sold four tyres, two batteries and diesel oil from a truck (NL-01G-8155) belonging to the company.
