Coal truck kills one in city

SHILLONG: A coal-laden truck (ML 06 5033) on Sunday dashed a person at Rilbong Point in the city killing him on the spot.

According police, the accident took place at around 9.20 am. The deceased has been identified as Henry Dennis Warjri (35) of Lawjynriew Nongthymmai.

Police have arrested the driver of the truck Ailit Kharthangmaw.

In last few days several coal-laden trucks are seen plying through the city instead of going via Shillong bypass.
