Vijayawada: Urban Development and Parlia-mentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu on sunday said that the parties opposing NITI Aayog and land acquisition ordinance were doing so merely for the politics and not for the development.

Naidu, who was in city to unveil statue of freedom fighter and designer of the Tricolour Pingali Venkayya here at the All India Radio premises, said all states have a key role in the NITI (National Institute for Transforming India) Aayog to express their views on economic development.

“Parties opposing the NITI Ayog and land acquisition ordinance, are doing it for politics and not for development. Until and unless we bring economic reforms the nation cannot meet global challenges in terms of globalisation, liberalisation and privati-sation,” he said. The minis-ter said NDA government is bringing economic reforms which are needed in order to transform the country into an economic super power.(PTI
