Leopard injures mother-son duo

Kaliabor (Assam): A woman and her son were seriously injured by a leopard which strayed into their house in Assam’s Nagaon district on Sunday, a forest official said.
The leopard, suspected to have strayed from the nearby Burapahar range of Kaziranga National Park, entered the house at Baghjan under Kaliabor sub-division of the district and attacked both the woman and her sonwho were critically injured and have been referred to Guwahati Medical College.
The family members locked the leopard in a room and informed the forest department whose employees rushed to the spot, tranquillised the animal and took it away. (PTI)
