One woman of Lad-Sutnga (EJH) lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on Jan. 1 around 2:30 pm, one Sloy Pala allegedly raped her at the village.
Assault
On Jan. 10 night, David Nongrum and Daniel Nongrum attempted to assault Jerry Marboh at Nongrah, Shillong. Later, the brothers of Jerry Marboh – Davis Marboh and Bantei Marboh – assaulted David Nongrum and Daniel Nongrum.
On Jan. 22 at about 1 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted Geoffrey Swer (32) at Nongrah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
Theft
On Jan. 22 around 2:30 pm, unknown number of miscreants stole fifteen bags of ginger belonging to Devor Mynong from Nonghali under Nongmynsong OP, Shillong.
On Jan. 21 night, unknown miscreants stole a laptop from the house of Dr. EG Momin at Pynthorbah, Shillong.
ATM theft attempt
On Jan. 20 around 11.30 pm, one Rahul Das attempted to commit burglary in an SBI ATM Booth at Malki, Dhankheti Branch, Shillong.
Cheating
Ramesh Bawri of Dhankheti, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on Jan. 20, he found that unknown miscreants had written a letter to the Postal Department by forging his signature and informing that all items and postal covers addressed to him should be delivered in his new postal address at Mumbai and not at Dhankheti, Shillong.
Saurav Choudhury of Nongrim Hills, Shillong, lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that seven persons – Ishant, Prashant, Mehtab, Tushar, Anurag, Nisha and Piya – who claimed to be employee of one company Secure Naukri.com cheated him of Rs.12,268 with a false promise of providing him a job.
Accident
On Jan. 22 at about 9:20 am, a city bus (ML-05F-5506) knocked down one pedestrian Rapborlin Pathaw (42) at Paltan Bazar, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.
On Jan. 21 around 7.40 pm, one local taxi (ML-05E-0364) driven by Debraj Rana (29) knocked down one minor boy Trance T. Warjri (14) at Happy Valley, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
Rehabilitation patient escapes
On Jan. 20 around 6 pm, one mentally unstable person Rajiv Pradhan (31) was admitted at KRIPA Foundation, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong. On Jan. 21, he fled away from the institution.
Man found unconscious dies
On Jan. 21 at about 7:50 pm, Gokul Thapa (58) was found lying unconscious at Kench’s Trace, Shillong. He was shifted to CH Shillong, where the MO on duty declared him brought dead.
Thieves nabbed
Challam lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on Jan. 19 at about 8 am, four persons – Lasmon Lamare, Sohan Pale, Riang Kassar and Gore Thapa – stole GI pipes and other materials valued around Rs.7,200 from IB, PWD premises at Mission Compound, Jowai (WJH). Police arrested the accused persons.
Domestic violence
One Sushmita Das lodged a complaint at Rynjah PS that her husband Manoj Das has been harassing her mentally and physically since the year 2004. Further on Jan. 19, the accused again assaulted the complainant in their residence at RR Colony, Rynjah, Shillong.
Threat
On Jan. 16 at about 7 pm, one Phantin Pakem created nuisance at Mooknor village (EJH) and also threatened the Secretary of the village with a knife.
