SHILLONG: Meghalaya PWD minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has denied the allegation that Rs 27 crore earmarked for up-gradation of Weiloi-Mawkyrwat-Rangblang road has been diverted
Speaking to media persons here on Thursday,  Dhar  said that the proposal was sent to Ministry of DoNER,  but there were some problems.
The department even completed the estimates of the project and it was sent to Planning Board and now it will be again sent to the Union Ministry for the necessary  approval.
It may be mentioned that KSU South West Khasi Hills (KSU-SWKH) is contemplating to resume agitation to pressurize the Meghalaya government for taking up the upgradation project. It may be noted that the 40-km Weiloi-Mawkyrwat-Rangblang road which was projected to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.27 crore is one of the 45 projects under the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) which was dropped on Sept 13, 2013, based on the recommendation of Chief Minister Mukul Sangma at the 118th meeting of the NLCPR Committee.
