Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday asserted that Maha-tma Gandhi’s ideals of non-violence and religious tole-rance are more relevant in the times when “intole-rance” and “extremism” are on the rise.
“On the occasion of Gandhiji’s death anniversary on Friday, I pay homage to this great soul for his selfless invaluable contribution to humanity,” the CM tweeted.
The Congress party had organised a state-wide booth committee meeting on Friday with the chief minister attending a meeting at Ward No 10 in Upper Assam’s Jorhat town.
