BSS event
Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) – a worldwide Hindu philanthropic organization – will observe Maghi Purnima, the 120th birth anniversary of its founder Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj from February 1 to 4 at its Ashram at Jail Road. Financial assistance to students, donation of food items to children and pregnant mothers and other charitable activities will mark the occasion.
Music festival
All India Radio Shillong willorganise an AIR Choral Music Festival entitled ‘Ascending Voices’ on February 13 at the Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Shillong at 5pm.The festival is a celebration in connection with World Radio Day.
Home delivery charges
The Meghalaya Newspaper Hawkers and Vendors Association in its general meeting recently decided to charge for home delivery of newspapers to the readers. In a statement issued here on Friday, association general secretary E Sohshang said that they will charge Rs 20 per month for the readers who are making payment on a monthly basis while they will charge Rs 5 for the readers who make payment on a weekly basis.
