5 militants, 2 NDFB(S) activists arrested

Itanagar:On its conti-nuous effort against underground militants after Assam massacre, Aruna-chal Pradesh Police has nabbed two hardcore NDFB(S) cadres, two link-men and one arms dealer in the past one week, accor-ding to IGP (Law & Order and Crime), I D Shukla.
Addressing to media persons at Police Head-quarters here today, IGP Mr Shukla informed that the criminals were identified as- Rajiv Basumatary (26) and Dino Basumatary (27). Both are the members of NDFB(S) factions engaged in fund collections for their group. They were hailed from Bihpuria in Assam.
Both the criminals were involved in kidnapping cases since last 6-7 years, he further informed.They were arrested from Chowl-dhowa under Lakhim-pur district of Assam after getting specific information, Mr Shukla said.
The Police also arrested two local linkmen, engaged in to provide information to NDFB men to commit crimes in the state, identified as Dani Miri and Nanu Tacha.
Miri, hailed from Lower Subansiri and Tacha from Papumpare districts of the state. Both are residing in Vivek Vihar here, the IGP informed.
Another, Acha Pordung (27), hailed from East Kameng district of the state was involved in illegal arms supplying business to the criminals. The group was planning to abduct a prominent businessman and a higher official of a PSU company in the Capital for getting ransom. They were engaged in gathering information to materialise their plan, the senior police officer informed.
The Capital police team under the supervision of SP S Kuruvilla, who was also present in the meeting, SDPO, Naharlogun and others had succeeded to nab the culprits from different locations in Assam and Arunachal since past one week. (UNI)
