Jackie Chan’s son released from prison
Chinese movie star Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee Chan was Friday released after serving a six-month jail term.
On Aug 14, 2014, Beijing police arrested Jaycee and Taiwanese actor Ko Chen-tung, both tested positive for marijuana and admitted to have used the drug, Xinhua reported.
Police discovered 117.7 grams of marijuana in Jaycee’s house.
Ko was released after 14 days of detention.
Jaycee was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan ($326) for drug offences by the Dongcheng District People’s Court in Beijing Jan 9. However, the time he had already served was taken into account.
Jackie Chan had apologised in public for Jaycee’s offences. He said Jaycee will learn from his mistakes.
China has detained a string of celebrities on drug-related and prostitution charges.
On Thursday, Chinese singer Yin Xiangjie was prosecuted in Beijing for possession of drugs. (IANS)
Pamela Anderson files for divorce again
Former ‘Baywatch’ star Pamela Anderson has filed for divorce from poker player and third husband Rick Salomon yet again. Anderson and Salomon, both 47, first wed in 2007 but got an annulment just two months later, reported People magazine.
The couple then rekindled the flame, marrying in January 2014. Six months after tying the knot, the actress filed for divorce but asked a judge to dismiss her petition in August 2014.
The next month, she remained optimistic about the on-and-off relationship. “It’s a real marriage. It has its ups and downs. I think we’re doing fine,” she had said. Anderson was previously married to musicians Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. (PTI)
Charlie Sheen wants to run for US Presidency in 2016
Troubled actor Charlie Sheen has expressed his desire to run for the White House and have his father Martin Sheen as Vice President.
The 49-year-old appeared on ‘The Flipside With Michael Loftus’ where he discussed his political views and a possible run in 2016. “I conducted a poll – it was like 10 guys. In every situation – it doesn’t matter the ethics scenario or the social scenario – when I say, ‘Hey, what if I ran for president?’ It’s a hundred percent. “Guess who my vice president is? My dad. It would be Sheen and Sheen 2016. Running on a platform of truth and transparency. Seriously,” he said.
If he runs for office, the ‘Anger Management’ star the three laws he would like to pass are providing each school with an armed military veteran for protection, a flat tax rate of 10 per cent and “everybody relax”. (PTI)
Lady Gaga to perform at Oscars
Singer Lady Gaga will perform at the 87th Academy Awards here Feb 22.
The show’s producers – Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Gaga – took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the news Thursday, reports ew.com.
The 28-year-old singer confirmed the news by tweeting: “I’m performing live at the OSCARS this year!”
Zadan wrote that Gaga will be involved in “a very special performance.” (IANS)
