Abducted man rescued

SHILLONG: Police on Friday night rescued one Niren Rabha, who was abducted by unidentified militants recently, after an exchange of fire.
According to police, Rabha was rescued  after police conducted operations at Lalmati / Kholishabhita areas under Garobadha in West Garo Hills.
Police said that when the abductors were asked to surrender and to hand over the abducted victim, they fired at the police.  Police also retaliated and managed to rescue Rabha safely.  No casualty was reported.
