Actress Sarah-Jane Dias, who has released her debut single ‘Forgot To Be Me’, says she would love to lend her voice to Bollywood numbers.
The 32-year-old ‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ actress has also penned the song, which premiered on February 12.
“I would love to lend my voice for a Bollywood song. If an opportunity presents itself, I would give it a shot,” Sarah told PTI in an interview.
The actress said she was always interested in singing but was waiting for the right time to launch her own music.
“I have not turned singer suddenly. I have always been a singer. I wanted to bring out my own song, I was just waiting for the right time. It was always been on my mind. I haven’t released my song because many actresses sing nowadays. I did it because I wanted to do,” she said.
The song, which the actress said is based on her own experiences in life and observations about others, also features actor Arunoday Singh, celebrity hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani and VJ Bani.
“The song is about how we lose our individuality in the process of giving in any relationship, be it with your lover or with your family. It has been inspired by my own experience as well as based on observations about others’ relationships.
“I have been friends with all three of them for a long time and I feel they are strong individuals so they were perfect for this song,” Sarah said.
The actress said she has plans to belt out more music in future. “I am serious about singing. I really want this song to be a success. I have plans of bringing out more songs and albums,” she said.
Among the Bollywood actresses, who have recently turned singers, Sarah said that she is an admirer of Priyanka Chopra’s voice.
“Priyanka is definitely my favourite. I love Priyanka’s voice. I think she sings beautifully,” she said. (PTI)
