JOWAI: The Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) has demanded extension of the validity period of the District Selection Committee (DSC) merit list in West Jaintia Hills District.
Concerned over the delay in giving appointment to the DSC candidates who have cleared the interview conducted by the DSC, the JSU has requested the Personal Department to extend the validity by one year.
The JSU recalled that they had requested the extension during an earlier meeting with the Commissioner Secretary, Personal Department, but no extension was given.
The JSU also accused the Department of being biased with regards to West Jaintia Hills since the validity of the merit list in other districts had been extended.
