SHILLONG: Prof. AK Das of the Mathematics Department of   NEHU, who was accused in molestation case, has been asked by the University authorities to go for a compulsory retirement.
Acting Vice Chancellor of NEHU P Shukla said that the professor had been asked  by the Executive Council to go for compulsory  retirement after the observations made by the Inquiry Board that he was guilty of the offence.
However, sources said that the professor was planning to move the court for legal redress.
It was in August last year that an FIR was  lodged at Mawlai police station against Prof  Das by a research scholar of the University alleging that the teacher had been sexually harassing her since February 2014.
