NGT violation

North Garo Hills Police on Monday detected 46 coal-laden trucks at Wageasi transporting coal in violation of the NGT order. The drivers were arrested and the trucks were seized.
Body found floating
On March 10 around 11 am, the body of one Dlo Mawnuih (74) was found floating on a stream at Lamlyer village (EKH). The deceased was reportedly missing from Mynsain, Nongthymmai, Laitkroh (EKH) since Nov 30, 2014. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.

Loan default

Annamon Nongphud lodged a complaint that one Rina Syiemlieh had borrowed Rs.12 lakh from her but till date failed to repay the amount, and instead the borrower threatened to filed an FIR against her.

Accident

On March 10 around 2.30 pm, one Lovestar Kharbudnah (45) fell down from an STPS bus (ML-01-6823) and the bus ran over his right foot. He was removed to NEIGRIHMS for treatment.
On March 9 around 1.30 pm, one Maruti car (ML-10A-3109) driven by Kerland Kharumnuid (35) knocked down Akash Gurung (16) at Lumshyiap, Nongmynsong, Shillong. Victim sustained minor injuries.

Illegal possession of mining camp

On March 10, Ajay Jain, Director, Saumya Mining Ltd., Sector-1, Salt Lake Kolkata lodged an FIR at Mawsynram PS that four persons Amit Dubey, Narayan Sharma, P.K. Singh and Manjushree Roy of Lafarge Umiam Mining Pvt., had illegally taken over possession, trespassed into the camps of Saumya Mining Ltd., Nongtrai (EKH) and moved excavators, loaders, dumpers, drill machines to their workshop in violation of their agreement.

Trees felled

Stephen Nongsiang lodged a complaint that on Feb 17 around 10 am, two persons Blassius Nongsiang (35) and Sanbor Swangre (33) cut down trees from a forest belonging to Nongsiang Clan at Pyndengdamjeh village (WKH). Police arrested the accused.
