NGT hearing on Monday

SHILLONG: Principal Bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT) in Delhi has listed for Monday the case   related to the further transportation of extracted coal and payment of royalty after the transportation of already extracted coal was stopped in February 12.
An official source said that the case was heard on March 12 by the NGT and the State Government sought time till March 31 for payment of challans and May 31 for transportation of extracted coal.
The decision on the plea of the state government will be taken when the matter will come up for hearing on Monday.
Senior advocate  Raj Panjwani, who is the amicus curiae, informed NGT during the hearing that there was violation of NGT ban in the state as there were cases of illegal mining.
